Overview
Kuroyo helps you discover anime, track a watchlist, rate titles, and receive optional episode reminders. This policy explains how the Kuroyo app and website handle personal information for users, including users who install the mobile app.
Information we collect
- Sign-in information, such as your verified email address, display name, account identifier, and profile image when you choose to sign in.
- Profile information you provide, including username, display name, profile visibility choices, and uploaded avatar.
- Anime tracking information, including saved titles, watchlist status, ratings, comments, reviews, and notification reminder choices.
- Basic app, notification, and security information needed to keep your account signed in, deliver reminders you enable, prevent abuse, and keep the service reliable.
- App preferences and service data needed to operate the app, including theme preference, enabled ad placements, cached anime metadata, and service records.
How we use information
- To create and secure your account, keep you signed in, and sync your watchlist and profile across devices.
- To show your saved anime, ratings, comments, recommendations, airing schedules, and profile privacy settings.
- To send optional push notifications for episode or movie reminders you enable.
- To prevent abuse, investigate errors, protect the service, and improve reliability.
- To operate ads if ads are enabled in the app.
Third-party services
Kuroyo uses service providers for sign-in, push notifications, ads, hosting, security, and anime metadata. Those services may process information under their own privacy policies. Account details are not intentionally sent to anime metadata services as part of anime lookups.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only when needed to operate the app, comply with law, protect users or the service, or work with service providers that support authentication, notifications, hosting, security, and ads.
Your choices
- You can sign out of the app at any time.
- You can change profile visibility, watchlist visibility, and ratings visibility in profile privacy settings.
- You can disable app notifications through your device settings or remove individual reminder subscriptions in the app.
- You can request account deletion or data removal at /account-deletion or by contacting [email protected] from the email address connected to your Kuroyo account.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and anime tracking data while your account remains active or while needed to provide the service. If you request deletion, we will remove your account, profile, avatar, watchlist, ratings, comments, reviews, and reminder data, unless retention is required for security, legal, or operational reasons.
Children
Kuroyo is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.
